State of Emergency
Under the authority of New York State Executive Law § 24, Supervisor John Pizzolato hereby declares a Snow Emergency for the present snow storm January 25, 2026, forecasted to continue through January 26, 2026. The storm is expected to bring rapid, heavy snow and ice conditions deemed to be a significant risk to public safety, and requiring the authority to enact emergency orders.
The Snow Emergency will be in effect from 10 am on January 25, 2026, through to 5 pm January 26, 2026, which will constitute the date and time of the issuance of this State of Emergency, unless circumstances require it to be extended.
During which, residents are instructed to remain off the roads. Non-essential road travel and parking on the road is prohibited during this period. We thank all mandated workers today, including our medical professionals, law enforcement, emergency services, and Town of Highland Highway Department—please allow them to travel and do their jobs safely.
In the event of a power outage, two warming stations will be open for charging of devices, water, and meal distribution, and a place to warm.
