The Town of Highland Town Board is seeking anyone interested in the position of Part-Time Constable. All applicants must carry a New York State Pistol Permit, previous police training and certifications would be beneficial.  Applicants must be a Sullivan County Resident. The Upper Deleware Council,s 28th Annual Ceremony is on Sunday April 24,2016 at the Tennanah Lake Golf and Tennis Club. The UDC will be honoring two recipients from the Town of Highland. The Sunshine Hall Free Library is receiving the Cultural Achievement Award, Celebrataing 100th anniversary in 2016.

Glen Pontier is receiving the Recreation Achievment Award  for beautification initiatives in river town through leadership of Sullivan Renaisance program 2000-2015.For more information please call 845-252-3022, reservations must be made by April 15,2016.

‘A CENTURY OF SUNSHINE’ 
Gala Dinner Dance Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Library 
[ELDRED] – The public is invited to join friends and patrons of the Sunshine Hall Free Library for “A Century of Sunshine” gala on Thursday, June 30 at the Carriage House Restaurant in Barryville. The dinner-dance and silent auction will celebrate the library’s 100th anniversary. Cost is $40 per person and the number of tickets is limited.
The celebration will kick off with a silent auction and cash bar at 6:00 p.m. The buffet dinner, welcome and grand toast start at 7:00 p.m. Activities will include a short history of the library, recognition of the school essay contest winners, the robust singing of “You Are My Sunshine” and a live band and dancing. 
A beautiful commemorative journal is being created for this 100th anniversary celebration. Businesses and individuals that would like to be part of it by including a message or advertisement should contact the library or a member of Friends of Sunshine Hall Free Library, Inc. The essay contest is open to students from the Homestead School, George Ross Mackenzie Elementary School and Eldred Central Junior-Senior High School, with one winning essay from each school placed in the journal.
More details on the gala will be announced as the date approaches.
Sunshine Hall Free Library was chartered in 1916 and is a member of the Ramapo Catskill Library System (RCLS). Library cards from all 47 libraries in RCLS can be used at Sunshine Hall. 
A free library card is available to anyone who lives in the towns of Highland or Lumberland with identification and proof of residency. Non-residents may apply for a library card for an annual fee of $20.00. The annual fee is waived for anyone who donates $100 or more to the library.
